What exactly is Taftie?

Taftie, which began as a French association in 1992, today includes 34 groups from 28 European nations.

Taftie is a European network of the most influential national innovation agency.

It facilitates the sharing of information and best practises among its members in order to better the execution of R&D and innovation projects in their respective nations and worldwide. In member organisations, nearly 8,000 technology and innovation workers control a combined innovation budget of more than €10 billion.

Members of the network get assistance in executing national innovation initiatives, building innovation ecosystems, and forming international collaborations. Taftie members share knowledge and experiences with one another. They discuss topical subjects of mutual interest in working groups, task forces, and networks on a regular basis.

Strong Collaboration

The Swiss agency Innosuisse will take over the presidency of Taftie from the Croatian innovation agency Hamag Bicro in early 2024. By assuming the chairmanship, Innosuisse highlights the significance of the Taftie network to Switzerland. During its twelve-month presidency, Innosuisse will be able to expand its worldwide ties and stimulate European interchange.

According to Annalise Eggimann, director of Innosuisse, networks like Taftie are critical for Switzerland at a time when the nation’s relationship with Europe is difficult and Horizon Europe classifies it as a non-associated third country. “Through our chairmanship, we hope to strengthen knowledge exchange and foster bilateral partnerships with other European funding agencies,” Eggimann adds.
