Located in the city park, the restaurant blends seamlessly into its surroundings with four extension blocks (or pavilions) featuring reflective metal exterior walls. These walls allow the restaurant to blend harmoniously into the parkland, creating a futuristic yet natural ambience. The massive windows, which can be moved vertically upwards, contribute to the overall balance between architecture and nature.

Inside the pavilions, every detail is meticulously designed to provide maximum freedom of movement for staff and a sense of privacy and connection to the environment for guests. Movable curved wooden partitions allow for quick changes in seating arrangements, while a section connecting the extension to the original building allows guests to witness the culinary artistry firsthand.

Eleven Madison Park, New York City, US

For lovers of Art Deco style and exceptional cuisine, Eleven Madison Park in New York City is a must-visit destination. Located in the iconic Metropolitan Life North Building, the main dining room exudes the grandeur of a grand palace. With windows reaching heights comparable to a two-story home, the interiors pay homage to the building’s historical significance and location. Warm palettes, textured walls, chairs and tables, and carefully curated lighting transport guests back to the glamour of the 1930s.

Three private dining rooms are available, seating up to 18, 34 and 50 guests respectively. Azurmendi, Larrabetzu, Spain

Azurmendi in Larrabetzu, Spain, is known not only for its delicious cuisine, but also for its commitment to sustainability, which extends to its architectural design. The building itself resembles a large greenhouse on a hilltop in the Basque Country, surrounded by picturesque views of the countryside. Glass walls allow diners to enjoy their meals while immersed in the beauty of nature, complemented by the play of natural light throughout the day.

Designed by Naia Eguino, the building incorporates bioclimatic features such as a rooftop greenhouse and a garden of vegetables and aromatic plants. Rainwater harvesting systems, solar energy harvesting, and electric vehicle charging stations demonstrate Azurmendi’s commitment to green practices. Recycled materials and local wood panels contribute to the sustainable construction, while the interior atrium features tree sculptures and rainwater-fed plants. The restaurant is Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certified and is a two-time winner of The World’s 50 Best Sustainable Restaurant Award.
