23 Races Of The F1 Series In 2023

No fewer than 23 Grand Prix races are on offer to fans of the queen of motorsport – the Formula One World Championship – in 2023. As reported by MotorAuthority.com, this will equal the record number of races set last year, when the same number of races was 23.

New to this year’s F1 Grand Prix calendar, announced by the FIA in September, is the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Unusually, it will take place on Saturday, 18 November 2023, rather than the usual Sunday. It will be the penultimate race of the year and will take place at night, making Las Vegas, also known as Sin City, stand out with its magnificent lighting.

There will be a total of three races in the United States, with Las Vegas, the Miami Grand Prix and the traditional US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. The Qatar Grand Prix returns after a one-year break.

On the contrary, the Chinese Grand Prix will be missing, which has been absent since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, although it was originally included in the calendar for this year. A place was not found even for the once traditional French Grand Prix, but the organizers warn that F1 could return to the land of the Gallic rooster in the future.

However, two Grand Prix will be held in Italy. The first is the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola and the second is the Italian Grand Prix at the iconic Monza circuit.

Formula 1 races on the largest tracks in the world

For anyone who is familiar with the history of the automobile, the tracks on which the Formula 1 Grand Prix races take place are familiar names. One that everyone knows is in the city of Monaco on the French Riviera. The Monaco Grand Prix was first held on the city’s streets in 1929. F1 returned when the series was launched after the Second World War, and today the Monaco race remains the highlight of the season.

But other tracks also reflect history:

  • Monza, on the outskirts of Milan, was built before Monaco and is a huge attraction for racing fans.
  • Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, less than an hour’s drive from Liège, is one of the most beautiful and historic circuits. It runs through the Ardennes forest and is like a rollercoaster for the drivers.
  • Formula 1 has also moved to new locations. In the last decade, circuits have been built from Bahrain to Shanghai and from Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul, underlining the sport’s growing reach.
