Austrian UHNWIs are particularly fond of such assets, putting 59% of their total wealth into them.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\" data-sider-select-id=\"fb09c8cc-705a-4d1f-be02-214d82fce001\">\u00a0Commercial property is even more popular among UHNWIs around the world, whom Statista found allocating an average of <a href=\"\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/426995\/share-of-uhnwi-investments-allocated-to-property-by-region\/\" data-sider-select-id=\"92d86ca0-c198-4718-8b5b-990025adbc5c\">21% of their total wealth towards directly holding it and 12% towards indirectly holding it through funds or real estate investment trusts<\/a>.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\" data-sider-select-id=\"4373dc3b-60fe-40ac-9386-ec21bc2eef8e\">\u00a0In Switzerland, the Swiss Asset Management Institute identified real estate as asset managers\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.am-switzerland.ch\/assets\/content\/files\/Asset_Management_Study_2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">favourite alternative asset class to include in their mixes in 2022<\/a>.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\" data-sider-select-id=\"faf89a58-41b6-4625-bf13-92bfc9cb77c7\">Clearly, investors like real estate. They have many good reasons to do so, including that it often serves as a secure, effective hedge against inflation and \u2013 especially for the wealthiest of investors \u2013 a key component of an affluent lifestyle and a family legacy. In general, real estate has a reputation as a \u201csafe\u201d investment asset class where prices tend to rise more than they fall, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.handelszeitung.ch\/podcasts\/hz-insights\/deshalb-klettern-die-preise-furs-eigenheim-in-der-schweiz-weiter-678856\" data-sider-select-id=\"cba9c5cd-2067-4d99-9f67-50ec08b87b16\"
